Candi Borobudur or Borobudur Temple

is the world’s largest Buddhist temple.

The reliefs of the first gallery

[lower levels of the temple]

depict the Jatakas,

fables based on sacred Buddhist texts,

about the previous lives of Buddha.

I had the chance to take pictures

of these 4 successive panels.

With out knowing it, I had captured

reliefs depicting the Kaccapavadana,

which is the story

of the Bodhisattva’s past life

as a turtle who has vowed

to save all sentient beings.

Just found out after a bit of research :)
